When trust is broken by loss and grief, can it ever be repaired? High school sweethearts and young lovers, Brad and Suzy had vowed to stay together forever, but loss separated the young lovers. Moving on with their lives, neither could fill the empty void nor forget their first love. Suzanne McDonald had closed herself off to dating in spite of the best efforts of her friends to play matchmaker and threw herself into her job as a veterinary technician. Brad, now known as BJ to his friends, had focused on his career as a computer programmer for Alverez Security Agency. When a mutual friend played matchmaker between BJ and Suzanne, the two were stunned to be reunited. Her grief, still raw after all these years, had her running away once again. Brad knew he had let her go years ago when he was a young man but now vowed to show her that they were still meant for each other. In spite of the walls she had built around her heart, Brad was determined to break them down and earn her love and trust once again. When Suzanne stumbles across evidence of organized crime taking place in her neighborhood, she puts herself at risk trying to save others. Can Brad rescue Suzy before she is silenced permanently? Can she trust in Brad's love to save her?
Due to language that some will consider crude and scenes of a sexual nature, 18+ only!

Both of these characters are dislikable. BJ's dialogue is glib--Suzanne is so annoying, she cries constantly. The dialogue repeats itself with BJ constantly telling her to trust him & he'll always protect her. Although he tells her this--over & over & over & over---when she is told over & again--that she should not be alone, to call him when needed, when she is very much in danger--he puts his phone to vibrate, missing her call. It would have seemed more believable if the author had Suzanne just forget her phone. I really felt these were cutout characters & I felt no emotional connection with them. Although he professes her to be the love of his life---his behavior since they broke up is shallow & abhorrent. Their relationship seemed to be about constant sex & I didn't feel any love there. So that became more the focus than developing these characters better. I'm not sure what to think about this author. The first book of this series was very good, this terrible. At 43% of this book, I was 100% bored & worse, just annoyed with all of it. My thoughts--oh no, she's going to cry again--oh no, they're going to have sex again---oh no their going to say that yet again. I wish I could master quitting the book if it isn't good by 50%. I read 4-6 books a week & this was such a waste of my time & waste of $0.99.Product details

Love Trusting (Audible Audio Edition) Maryann Jordan Kevin Clay Mary Ann Litton Books Reviews
I love Maryann's books, and this series is my favorite of hers. This was a great addition to the series!! I love second chance stories and this is a great one. There is suspense, which I have loved in all the books in this series, a great sense of family and friendship, and lots of swoony moments. The book is well written, great story telling, amazing characters and had hot, delicious Brad!!!! Lol
We met Suzy and Brad in The Fairfield series (If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it). They were high school sweethearts and through a series of misunderstandings they went their separate ways. Even though its been years since they ended things, they still can't forget about each other. As if by fate, they meet again after many years through mutual friends. BUT don't think it's all hearts and rainbows, when Suzy saw him she literally ran the other way. The thing she did't take into consideration though is, that Brad was not going anywhere. Not again. He lost the love of his life when he was a young man, but now he was determined to win her heart.
Will Brad be able to tear down Suzy's walls?? Will Suzy be able to trust Brad again?? Will they finally get their HEA?! I guess you'll have to read to find out ;)
I thought a lot about this story before I posted my review. It is definitely my favorite book of Maryann Jordan and since I love all her books, finding one that is my favorite really says something. If you have read Maryann's Fairfield series, you will remember BJ (Brad) and Suzanne (Suzy) when they were teenagers and just finding each other. I was so thrilled to read their story as adults although I didn't realize Suzanne was Suzy from Fairfield throughout the first Love Series books.,,which is my fault...because the clues were there. Anyway, I have felt for Suzanne throughout this series because I could tell she had suffered a great loss and had a huge distrust in men. I'm not going to summarize the story because if you have already read it, you don't need me to and if you haven't read it, I don't like to give away spoilers. Although I guess you could say maybe I did just a little.
So, I am going to go through the usual thing and say how much I love this couple and I'm so glad they worked it out. But, what I really want to talk about is how Maryann Jordan freaking rocks with the way she brings them together. She created a strong heroine, but not one that was so hardened that you just wanted to say, "girl, wake up!" and she created an alpha hero in Brad (sorry, I can't seem to call him BJ) who is the consummate partner. He was tough with her when he needed to be and soft at the appropriate time as well. I've never seen a man that is so in sync with his woman's feelings and insecurities. As a result, Suzanne was able to come back from the issues that plagued her over the years. I'm not saying that he made her into a better person...he just gave her coping skills that she didn't have before; therefore she was much less prickly, if that makes any sense. God, I hope I'm saying this right.
This book meant a lot to me because I understand Suzanne's pain and when you read it, you will too. I have been where she was and its the greatest pain imaginable. I applaud Maryann Jordan for taking a sensitive subject and handling it like she did. This is definitely a reread for me and I think it will be for you too. I'll say it again, Maryann...you rock!! )
